Hyundai Debuts N Vision 74 Concept

What is the N Vision 74 Concept?

Hyundai N Brand presented the N Vision 74 Concept at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, its first-ever entry at the world-famous showing of classic and prototype cars. The concept first made its showing at the Hyundai Reunion with a Pony Coupe Concept restoration, and since then, it’s only gotten more attention for its innovative use of hydrogen fuel-cell technology. The new concept takes the spirit of the original Pony Concept into the future with sustainable engineering and design with hopes to bring hydrogen fuel-cell technology to the mainstream. With its retro inspiration and futuristic tech, the N Vision 74 is a promising look into what’s to come in sustainable mobility.

The new hydrogen fuel cell architecture is a combination of a powerful battery-operated motor and a hydrogen fuel cell system. It’s powered by an 85 kW hydrogen fuel cell stack, two hydrogen tanks, and a 62 kWh lithium-ion battery that come together for a stable power output. Without the low-charge power degradation that other EVs face, the N Vision 74 Concept is able to recharge in just five minutes and travel over 370 miles on a single charge. The independent left and right motors allow the concept to reach 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

If this is any indication of what we can expect from the future of Hyundai N, it’s safe to say that we’re excited. It’s the next step into Hyundai’s zero-tailpipe-emission goal, proving that high performance doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment.
