Bellingham Hyundai Elantra Touring- Top of Its Class

2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring Hatchback Shown

Back in the day when you wanted economy you most likely had to drive an aesthetically challenged looking car.  Think about it: we had cars named the Gremlin, Pinto and Pacer accosting our site on the streets of Bellingham.

Well, times have changed.  You no longer have to offend other people's senses when you want to save some money and be out on the road.  In fact, you can look down right amazing as a Bellingham Hyundai Elantra Touring owner!

Don't just take my word for it:  Kelley Blue Book placed the Hyundai Elantra Touring on its top ten lists for coolest cars under $18,000 and US News named it #1 in the most affordable compact wagon department.

The adorable Hyundai Elantra Touring first showed up in Bellingham from Europe in 2009 and has made quite a splash here in the States.  Just because it looks compact on the outside, it is anything but on the inside.  In fact, because of its roominess on the inside it's considered a mid-size.

I'm tall and in other hatchbacks I ride in I feel more than a bit claustrophobic, but in the Hyundai Elantra Touring I have more leg room than I even need and the seats are beyond comfortable.  When it says it fits five, it actually fits five, unlike some other hatchbacks that might fit Kate Moss and a toddler in the backseat.

If you need to place cargo, your Bellingham Elantra Touring has more room than anything in its class.  When you fold down the seats, it fits a vast 65.3 cubic feet!!!!  That puts my SUV to shame.

The driver seat sits high and so you feel like you own the road.  It adjusts 8 different ways for you to find the perfect fit to your body.  The black or beige interior cloth is soft and breathable, and comes with the option of heated seats.

Keyless entry with alarm comes standard on all Hyundai Elantra Touring automobiles as well as the multi level center arm console and cooled glove compartment.  It also comes with the oh-so nice little things, like steering wheel remote radio control and satellite radio.

Does your Bellingham 2010 Hyundai Elantra have the vroom to get up and go?  Why yes, yes it does.

It shares its engine with the Hyundai Elantra sedan and packs a 141 HP punch on its 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine.  Because it's four-cylinder, you're going to find that you're stopping at the gas station a lot less.  You can cruise down the I-5 corridor towards Seattle at an impressive 31 MPG or breeze around Bellingham at 23 MPG.

Most important, I know my passengers and I are going to be safe.  Your Bellingham 2010 Elantra Touring comes standard with front and rear crumble zones, side impact door beams, hood buckling creases and an energy absorbing steering column.

There are 6 airbags, comfortable active head restraints and a tire pressure monitoring system.  It also comes with features to help you avoid a crash in the first place.

The electronic stability control feature will automatically apply brakes to individual wheels as needed to help keep the vehicle on its intended path and the Traction Control System will give you greater power and control on slippery surfaces.

That's right folks, you get all of this and more and you won't break the bank.  Don't forget that Hyundai has the best warranty in the business; you really can't go wrong.
