Kona Jayde Concept Debuts at 2023 SEMA Show

Hyundai is known for their fun concept cars that showcase the future of their design language while still being fun for fans and enthusiasts alike. At this year’s SEMA show, the company showed off their brand new Kona Jayde Concept that pays tribute to customers who enjoy making a personal statement with their vehicle by upgrading and modifying it to fit their lifestyle and needs. 

What Is SEMA?

SEMA stands for the Specialty Equipment Market Association and was founded in 1963. Its creation was to showcase the wonderful world of aftermarket parts and customization for vehicles. Car companies and parts companies show off the latest and greatest in the aftermarket parts and accessories world. It is currently held annually in Las Vegas.

Accessories

The Jayde is a collaboration between Hyundai and MOBIS, a genuine parts and accessories supplier to Hyundai. Attached to the roof is a striking Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box and on the back is a color-matched electric bike from Vintage Electric Bikes. The custom rally e-bike is attached to the vehicle via a Thule Epos bike rack with a Genuine Hyundai Accessory hitch. Vintage Electric even tire-matched the bike to the car as they both wear Michelin tires. 

Exterior Design

The Kona Jayde is wrapped in robin’s egg blue to set it apart from anything else around, with Air Design aerodynamic upgrades, a more prominent and aggressive front lip, new rocker panels, and a subtle rear spoiler. The Jayde is lowered on Eibach springs with black one-piece HRE 520M wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that are 235/40/ZR20 all around. 

Interior

The interior of the Kona Jayde is equally as special with its uniquely customized Recaro Sportster CS seats with a plaid pattern in various shades of teal and robin’s egg blues. The concept also sports other Hyundai accessories on the interior, including doorstep plates, a reversible cargo tray, and even plush carpeted floor mats. A Scosche PowerUp 32L portable charge and an InVert 200 DC to AC adapter to allow full charging of smartphones, tablets, laptops, and camera equipment without any issues.
