Hyundai Motors IONIQ 5 N Performance & Power Technical Specs

If you’re a big fan or enthusiast of the Hyundai brand, then there’s a pretty good chance you’re already well aware of Hyundai N. Hyundai N is the brand’s performance division, and they’ve built several high-performance variants for traditional Hyundai Motors vehicles throughout the years, such as the Hyundai Elantra N Line. Now, the performance division has built its first EV, the IONIQ 5 N. The vehicle recently made its debut at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and we’re stoked about the new vehicle. So stoked, in fact, that we thought we should give you the rundown on its performance & power by tackling some of the official technical specs released after its debut.

2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The annual motorsports and automotive culture event took place back in July and it was a hit as always. We were thrilled to see Hyundai debut its very first high-performance, all-electric vehicle at the event and cannot wait to get our hands on it ourselves. Not only is this the brand’s first performance EV, it’s also the first time the N brand has ever appeared at the annual festival, making it an even more exciting and memorable event. In addition to the debut of the first-ever IONIQ 5 N, several other iconic N brand vehicles were on display during the showcase. Vehicles present included the i20 N WRC, N Vision 74 and RN22e. Finally, the IONIQ 5 N also took part in the legendary Goodwood hill climb event.

Technical Specifications

The IONIQ N 5 features a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain that’s altogether capable of generating 601 horsepower. WIth a battery capacity of 84 kWh and a maximum chagrin speed of 350 kW, you could charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes with the appropriate equipment. The vehicle is equipped with Pirelli P-Zero 275/35R21 tires among plenty of other performance features and accessories.

As for performance specifics, the vehicle was able to accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (62 instead of 60 because the testing was done in Europe, where they test from 0-100 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds before continuing on to hit a top speed of 162 mph. Finally, it managed to run a quarter mile in 13.2 seconds at an average speed of 102 mph.
