Hyundai Earns J.D. Power APEAL Awards for 2022

There are a ton of options out there for new cars from a ton of different brands. Moreover, not all of these vehicles are created equal. As many vehicle options as there are these days, there are even fewer recognitions to award to those who rise to the top.

One of the most prestigious recognitions in the auto industry is the J.D. Power APEAL Awards. APEAL stands for Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout, a study that J.D. Power conducts every year to gather responses from tens of thousands of vehicle owners about their new vehicle ownership experience across 37 different categories. To have just one model be recognized with these awards is a stellar achievement.

Award-Winning Hyundai Santa Cruz and Palisade

As for Hyundai in 2022, the brand had five vehicles recognized in J.D. Power’s latest awards. The stars of this year’s results were the Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Santa Cruz, each named to be the most appealing vehicles in their segments, Upper Midsize SUV and Midsize Pickup, respectively. 

The latest version of the Palisade is the 2023 model, starting at an MSRP of $34,950. It boasts three rows of seats and 291 horsepower. The Santa Cruz starts at an MSRP of $24,440 and features a multifunction tailgate that can be opened remotely and have its height adjusted to better suit your cargo-hauling needs. Items that require a bit more security can be stored in the storage compartment underneath the bed.

Other J.D. Power APEAL Wins for Hyundai

That may all sound impressive, but what if we told you that Hyundai had four other vehicles earn awards from J.D. Power APEAL this year? Well, it’s true. The other award winners are the following:

• Hyundai IONIQ 5 (from MSRP $39,950) –  2nd place in Compact SUV segment
• Hyundai Sonata (from MSRP $24,150) – 2nd place in Midsize Car segment
• Hyundai Tucson (from MSRP $24,950) – 3rd place in Compact SUV segment
• Hyundai Accent (from MSRP $16,645) – 3rd place in Small Car segment
