Are you prepared to go the extra mile? The Bellingham Bay Marathon on September 30th provides you with the perfect opportunity.  Here’s how the big event is shaping up.

Ready, Set, Go

A candidate for the most beautiful marathon in the PNW, the Bellingham Bay Marathon features stunning views of Bellingham Bay, the North Cascades Mountains, and the San Juan Islands.

The trek begins on Lummi nation and wraps up in downtown Bellingham. Pacing is available for multiple different finish times and terrain consists of urban trail and hills.

Additionally, the Bellingham Bay Marathon is both a Boston Marathon qualifier and USATF certified. This means that the course has been accurately measured for distance and that standout runners have the opportunity to parlay a successful performance a Boston Marathon berth.

Course highlights include South Bay Trail, Nooksack River, Gooseberry Point, Boulevard Park, and more.

2018 Bellingham Bay Marathon Schedule of Events

The schedule of events, which is spread out over the course of two days, Sept. 29 and 30, are as follows:

Sept. 29

  • Race Expo at Bellingham Cruise Terminal (this includes on-site registration and packet pickup).


Sept. 30

  • The actual marathon. Its opening ceremony starts at 6:50 am on Blackhawk Way.
  • Ancillary events, which include the half marathon, 10K, and 5K, are also scheduled to take place during the morning.
  • Finish Festival, which opens at 9:30 am.

 

2018 Finish Line Festival

After a few intense hours testing your endurance, a little leisure is going to be in order. Luckily there’s the Finish Line Festival. This post-race attraction will feature food vendors, live music, and a Beer Garden. There will also be post-race sports massage services available, merchandise sales, and a closing ceremony (2:00-2:15 pm).
